Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott gives promising update on Matt Milano
The Buffalo Bills defense revolves around their All-Pro linebacker Matt Milano. Unfortunately for the Bills, though, they spent the vast majority of 2023 without him.
The star linebacker played in only five games last year after suffering a season-ending lower leg injury against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
However, head coach Sean McDermott gave a promising update on the star linebacker and how he’s progressed in terms of getting back on the field.
McDermott said Milano is “on schedule,” but also added that he won’t be participating in any activities and drills until Buffalo gets closer to training camp.
The Bills’ defense took a big step backwards after Milano went down, ranking 16th in the NFL in EPA per play from Week 6 onward. His loss was very evident against the Kansas City Chiefs, as they scored on each of their first five drives (not counting the one-play drive before halftime).
