In his first season playing high school football in the Bluegrass State, Carter caught 43 passes for 1,066 yards and 10 touchdowns in addition to scoring 3 touchdowns and gaining 214 yards through the air. The native of Tennessee added 44 tackles and 3 interceptions in defense. He scored a half dozen times on special teams (5 punt returns for a touchdown, 1 kickoff return for a touchdown).
This spring, Mark Stoops, the head coach, and tight ends coach Vince Marrow paid Carter a visit at his school. He trained with NPA with wide receiver Barion Brown and quarterback Cutter Boley, who are now close friends.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Carter is the No. 16 safety in the country and the No. 194 prospect overall, with a rating of.9274 on a 1.000 scale.
