Everything you need to know about Tennessee basketball’s 2024-25 SEC schedule
The SEC has released its schedule for the 2024-25 season, and Tennessee basketball will welcome back some old friends and new rivals while traveling to the newest members of the Southeastern Conference.
Tennessee basketball shared the new conference schedule on Monday through social media. We don’t have the official schedule, but we do know who Tennessee will face and whether the game will be at home or on the road.
The Vols will welcome Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
Tennessee will travel to play Vanderbilt, Texas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.
The Vols will play every team in the conference at least once as a result of Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC. Tennessee will play Florida, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt twice, one at home and one away, as shown in the graphic.
Immediately away, one thing to be aware of is that Tennessee is visiting Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M. The Vols will play each of the two newly admitted SEC teams in their first season as a welcome to the league. Considering how the SEC handled the football schedules for the 2024 season, I’m shocked that at least one of these games is not at home.
The Vols will also welcome back the new-look Arkansas Razorbacks, led by new head coach John Calipari and transfer forward Jonas Aidoo, who spent the last three years at Tennessee. The Vols immediately replaced Aidoo through the gateway, giving the paint additional substance.
Additionally, Tennessee will be welcoming Alabama back to Knoxville after the Tide put up one of the best SEC games in Tuscaloosa the previous season. In 2024–2025, Rick Barnes wants to lead Tennessee to the next level. The Vols had a potent offense the previous season, which allowed them to equal the Tide.
When Tennessee plays each SEC opponent will have to wait a little longer. After the Vols survived the storm and won the SEC at the end of the 2023–24 SEC calendar, they will face a difficult conference schedule once more with Tennessee scheduled to play every team in the conference.
