Collin Chandler — ‘one of the most talented high school players in the country’ — has signed with Kentucky

Collin Chandler made his move from BYU to Kentucky official on Monday, signing with the Wildcats.

It’s official — Kentucky’s first addition under new head coach Mark Pope put pen to paper on Monday.

Former BYU commit Collin Chandler made his flip official and has signed with the Wildcats, the program announced on Monday.

Pope stated in a release that “Collin Chandler is one of the most talented high school players in the country.” “He can jump the ball with incredible smoothness, move quickly to the rim, and release an explosive burst, but most impressively, he processes information at a speed that allows him to read space and time and make plays purely instinctively.”

Chandler, who was rated among the top 35 players in the nation, was a part of the 2022 class. After making his BYU commitment, he went on a two-year mission journey.

The 6-foot-4 guard said last week that he would be leaving BYU and going to Kentucky to play for Mark Pope. He is still eligible for all four years, and this summer he plans to enroll at Kentucky.

“Collin is the definition of a servant leader,” Pope added. “He, on his own desire and expense, chose to leave basketball and his life to go and serve people in Africa and Europe for two years. It won’t take long for every Feel his compassion and heart for others, Kentucky fan. He is a man and a player that I can’t wait to coach.”

Chandler attended Farmington High School (UT) and finished his career with 1,587 points and 135 3-pointers.

After averaging 21.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game in 2022, he was awarded the Utah Gatorade Player of the Year.

Chandler joins Travis Perry, a four-star point guard from Lyon County, Kentucky, in Pope’s two-man high school class. Perry is the lone member of the previous 2024 class to remain devoted to Kentucky. He made his commitment to the former staff under John Calipari.
