‘It’s disappointing’: Eric Dier reacts to what’s happened after leaving Tottenham for Bayern Munich
Eric Dier has now spoken about a disappointing development at Bayern Munich following his January exit from Tottenham.
The 30-year-old made the comments when speaking to Sky Germany.
So, what did Eric Dier say about life at Bayern Munich after departing Tottenham? Let’s take a look…
Eric Dier disappointed at Bayern Munich development
Well, the England international shared his sadness at the fact Thomas Tuchel is leaving the Allianz Arena this summer.
Dier expressed disappointment. I came here because of him. We get along well with each other. It’s unfortunate anyway, as he’s an excellent coach.
Since joining Bayern Munich in January, the No. 15 has only made six appearances in the Bundesliga, so the news of Tuchel’s departure must have surprised him during his transitional period.
With just four Premier League games under Ange Postecoglou’s leadership, Dier has six months left on his Tottenham contract. Spurs took advantage of this.
The defender cost Bayern Munich £4.3 million to sign, as reported by the Telegraph.
Eric Dier could be in for more disappointment after Tottenham exit
Things are not exactly going well for Dier or Harry Kane out in Munich as Bayer Leverkusen sit eight points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.
Dier might not receive the opportunity to improve under a new management, despite the fact that the latter has remarkably scored 31 goals and eight assists in 31 appearances this season.
According to a BILD article, Bayern Munich is hesitant to activate the extra year in the Cheltenham-born defender’s contract because of his lack of speed.
Dier just signed a six-month contract with the German powerhouses until the end of the campaign.
Tuchel may thus already be looking for a new club this summer unless his successor battles to keep the Englishman in Munich.
