According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to secure a ‘third marquee signing’ after landing Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin.
Spurs have been very active during the early stages of this month’s winter transfer window as they have already
signed Werner and Dragusin.
Werner, a former attacker for Chelsea, has joined Spurs on loan from RB Leipzig through the summer, with the possibility to sign him permanently for a fee of approximately £15 million.
In regards to Dragusin, Tottenham prevailed over AC Milan, Bayern Munich, and Napoli in the competition to acquire the center-back, who will now play for the Premier League team for approximately £25 million.
Tottenham has always considered signing a new center-back to be their top goal this month, as both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have struggled with injuries this year. Werner’s arrival comes at a perfect moment as well, since Son Heung-Min is out of the picture while representing South Korea in the Asia Cup.
The Premier League outfit are reportedly looking for more signings amid reports linking them with Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
Although West Ham and Spurs were keeping an eye on the England international during the summer, he has been a vital member of Chelsea’s team this year. The 23-year-old has started 19 Premier League games this season and has led his boyhood club multiple times, demonstrating Mauricio Pochettino’s trust in him.
Despite this, Gallagher is still being linked to other teams since Chelsea may be ready to pay him more given that his contract is set to end in 2025. Before the Blues to recruit a top-tier striker, they must divest sellable assets to alleviate their Financial Fair Play concerns.
