Done deal: Player will undergo medical today as Tottenham exit nears
Tottenham defender Eric Dier is one step away from joining Bayern Munich, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.
In order to finish his physical, the 29-year-old veteran footballer has traveled to Munich, and Plettenberg declares that the deal is “done.”
Dier will join Bayern for a cost of over €4 million, according to Fabrizio Romano as well. Personal terms have been agreed upon, and the player was persuaded to make the transfer by Thomas Tuchel over the phone.
Radu Dragusin has already finalized his medical and a deal with Tottenham has been agreed upon. Spurs gave Dier permission to depart the team when that agreement was finalized. In exchange for Dragusin, Djede Spence also left on loan to Genoa.
A different post has surfaced with footage showing Dier traveling to Munich for his check-up.
Reunited with Kane
Dier has been at Spurs for ten long years, and he has made over 360 appearances for the club in all competitions. Tuchel was full of praise for him, saying Dier is a specialist centre-back who can also play in midfield if needed.
Under Ange Postecoglou, the England international was unable to establish himself, and it was soon apparent that he would be traded. Dier had to leave the team because he was having trouble finding consistent playing time under Postecoglou.
He will be reunited with Harry Kane, his former Tottenham colleague, who is currently having an incredible season with Bayern Munich.
Timo Werner, a loanee from RB Leipzig, has signed with Spurs. Additionally, they are trying to add a midfield player, and Conor Gallagher is one player they may consider.
