Ajax now interested in signing ‘outstanding’ Tottenham player, but there’s already an issue

Ajax are reportedly interested in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, but the Dutch giants already have an issue in signing the Tottenham midfielder.

The Danish international has long been associated with a move out of north London; according to reports, Ange Postecoglou is willing to let go of Hojbjerg in January.

Hojbjerg is undoubtedly attracting interest, as Premier League teams are rumored to be eager on signing the former Southampton captain. He may be Tottenham’s next big sell.

Het Parool also claims that Ajax has developed feelings for Hojbjerg, despite the fact that the Dutch powerhouses consider the Tottenham midfielder to be a “unattainable” target.

Ajax is obviously eager to add a big midfield player this month, as players like Jordan Henderson are rumored to be on the team’s radar.

However, with Ajax already low on confidence in signing Hojbjerg this January, a move to the Netherlands seems to be off the table before anything has really started for the Dutch giants.

Tottenham could sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Ajax for cheap

James Maddison praised Hojbjerg as a “outstanding” player, so it’s understandable why Ajax is now interested in signing him this month from Tottenham.

Even though the Dutch team is already losing hope that they might work out a deal with Spurs for Hojbjerg, Ajax’s fate may not be as bad as it seems.

Tottenham is reportedly keen to let go of Hojbjerg this month, and although Ajax may not be able to meet the expectations the North London team has placed on the Dane, they may certainly come very close.

Spurs shouldn’t be scared to let go of Hojbjerg given that it appears the midfielder has no future at Tottenham, especially if doing so allows them to sign a third player in January.
