Michael Beale continues to take brutal Celtic hits, months after leaving following Newcastle United’s FA Cup win

Michael Beale still seems to be taking hits from Celtic, even though he has been out of the Glasgow spotlight for a few months now. 

The 43-year-old, who is currently Sunderland’s manager, lost yet another derby match, this time against Newcastle United in the Tyne-Wear derby.

In the Glasgow derby, Chris Sutton was there as usual to remind Michael Beale of his track record as a Rangers manager versus Celtic.

The outspoken commentator called Newcastle United’s FA Cup victory over Sunderland 3-0 “the most one-sided derby game since most of Mick Beale’s recent meaningful derby games” on Twitter.

The former assistant to Steven Gerrard made a lot of noise when he took over at Ibrox, but ultimately it resulted in Celtic defeat after Celtic defeat and, ultimately, his sacking.

Of fact, they prevailed in that match in the latter part of the previous campaign, but by then, the championship was already decided, and in classic Rangers fashion, they triumphed in a match with no stakes.

Celtic’s victory at Ibrox at the beginning of the season under Michael Beale’s leadership served as evidence of such, and they have since repeated the feat, this time defeating Philippe Clement 2-1.

Celtic post-Michael Beale’s exit

Brendan Rodgers’ side were sitting top of the Scottish Premiership table when Beale was sacked.

Many Rangers fans were hoping for an upward turn when Clement joined, they got that to a certain extent,

until he faced Celtic, he had been unbeaten in his first fifteen games in command.

They appear to be coming, as Rodgers stated after the Rangers game, although he has already fired another Ibrox boss.

Even though Celtic lost two games in a row for the first time in ten years, the squad still has a chance to win the championship.

It must be acknowledged that Celtic has shown tremendous talent over the previous month, improved their performances, and begun to play the game that many had anticipated.

Furthermore, there should be no excuse for the title to not be awarded again if the players have overcome their worst performance.
