‘Massive’ – Tottenham Expert reacts to ‘Huge’ news ahead of Brighton showdown

John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose is a welcome addition to Tottenham News’ exclusive writer lineup. He will provide his professional analysis on the most talked-about topics at Spurs every week.

John Wenham maintains that after the “outstanding” Kaoru Mitoma was ruled out of the match, there are “no excuses” why Tottenham cannot win against Brighton.

Spurs will travel to the Amex Stadium on Thursday 28 December looking to win their fourth consecutive league

game, but will be missing standout defender Cristian Romero, who is expected to miss a significant amount of time due to a hamstring injury (Football London, 27 December).

The hosts, meanwhile, are also beset by injury concerns. Mitoma, for example, is expected to miss the Tottenham match owing to an ankle ailment that might sideline him for up to six weeks (The Athletic, 27 December).

In light of this, Wenham feels that, even in the absence of Romero, Ange Postecoglou’s team should be able to secure all three points on the south coast.

“Mitoma is ruled out for Brighton, which is a massive boost for Tottenham,” stated Wenham in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News.

“He’s a terrific player and, without a question, among the finest outside of the Premier League’s conventional ‘top six,’ in my opinion.

His absence is significant since he could easily get onto several of the best teams in the league.

Moreover, Brighton hasn’t played very well in the league overall.

“They have conceded a goal in every one of the past 36 games—not a single clean sheet—and have only won two of the last 12 Premier League games.

Tottenham must thus travel there with confidence. We have a great opportunity of winning the game if we can score early, like we have done in a lot of our previous games.

“I understand that Brighton is a difficult place to visit, but Tottenham must go there and complete the task at hand—even without Cristian Romero.”

In other Tottenham news, as one 100% player keeps shining away from the team, Postecoglou will regret selling him.
