Tottenham board considering £51m Liverpool target but there’s one big problem
Tottenham’s search for a new defender has now brought them to consider making a move for Sporting Lisbon’s Goncalo Inacio.
Several Premier League teams are keeping an eye on the talented Inacio, who is currently a marked man in Europe.
It’s said that Liverpool is quite interested in signing Inacio. With a £51 million release clause in his contract, the defender may soon be in England.
Arsenal is also quite interested, and we’ve previously heard that Spurs are interested.
And although there is a slight problem with the price, journalist Ben Jacobs claims that Tottenham is in fact talking about signing Inacio.
Tottenham put off by Goncalo Inacio price
Taking to his social media account over on X, journalist Jacobs has spoken of Inacio and Spurs, but believes the price tag could be the problem for Spurs.
Inacio is one of the most in-demand players in Europe at the moment and it very much looks like it’s going to be a case of who pays the money first.
Right now, Tottenham are desperate for a new defender and while it is big money, it might be money well spent.
Inacio will have the pick of Europe
It appears that landing Inacio will be a fight to the death, and we are eager to watch which Premier League side emerges victorious.
If Tottenham does have Inacio, it would make sense for them to spend the money on him.
According to Jacobs, expenditure may be restricted, but as we seen with Cristian Romero’s signing, the finest defenders are expensive, and this may also be the case with Inacio.
In January, Spurs will need that defense. Indeed, they must ensure that the correct player enters the game as well, but they should definitely use Inacio’s opportunity if one exists.
