The defensive unit is the manager Ange Postecoglou’s main area of concern going into January. The former Celtic manager has just recently expressed his wish to bring in a new center-back, leaving little depth behind players like Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, the latter of whom is presently out due to injury.
However, a recent report by the Mirror claims that the north Londoners are also hoping to bolster their center-forward lineup in the upcoming season, as Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich has left a vacuum that has to be addressed.

Reports at the time said that Postecoglou intended to move the prolific scorer to England once he decided to trade the Hoops for the Lilywhites over the summer, with a cost of about £30 million having been proposed.
In the end, the former Vissel Kobe striker remained at Celtic Park after agreeing to a new, long-term contract in the summer. However, a rumor from last month claimed that Postecoglou had dispatched Spurs scouts to observe the 28-year-old in action.

The 21-cap international was very strong in the previous season, when Celtic easily won the triple crown. He scored 34 goals on all fronts, and his overall goal involvement of 39 goals was even more than what Kane scored and assisted on in Lilywhite the previous year.

Postecoglou claims that the rumored Tottenham target has the “best” mobility he has ever seen, which guarantees that he can both extend the field to create space for Son and provide the Korean with a consistent outlet in the channels and beyond an opponent’s backline.
