BREAKING: Three-Star Defensive Lineman Signs With Florida State Over Miami and Tennessee

The Seminoles pull off a victory on the recruiting trail over the Hurricanes and Volunteers.

With Georgia acquiring five-star defensive back KJ Bolden and Florida State failing to close on top prospect Jeremiah Smith, the team has had a dismal Early Signing Period. Although the Seminoles have a strong class in their midst, they have once again suffered some significant losses at the end of the recruiting year.

The program will be adding at least one prospect to the fold who entered Wednesday with a decision to make. Three-star defensive lineman D’Nas White announced that he was taking his talents to Tallahassee during a signing ceremony at his high school.

White chose the Seminoles over Miami and Tennessee. His relationship with the coaching staff is a big reason that he ultimately ended up at Florida State after taking his official visit two weeks ago

“I simply enjoy the energy and the supporters,” White had previously told NoleGameday. “I have a good relationship with the coaches and they’re real loyal.”

White grew close to defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins throughout his recruiting. He will get the chance to train with a coach who has a track record of success both on and off the field.

“It was fantastic,” White remarked. “He’s real genuine, he’s a great person, a great coach, and he’s amazing.”

During his senior season, the North Carolina native produced 45 tackles, nine tackles for loss, six sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and two pass deflections. He took part in the Carolinas Shrine Bowl.

In the 2024 class, 247Sports ranks the 6-foot-4, 333-pound defensive lineman as the No. 683 overall prospect, the No. 74 DL, and the No. 22 recruit in the state of North Carolina.

Florida State currently has 22 signees in their 2024 class, which 247Sports rates as the 10th best in the nation overall.

Throughout the day, NoleGameday will keep up with Florida State’s Early Signing Period conclusion. Check out our prospect tracker to stay up to date on all the next announcements.
