Two-time Rugby World Cup winner set for shock move to rivals after ANOTHER transfer twist

Two-time Rugby World Cup-winning Springbok RG Snyman could be staying in Ireland, with fresh reports suggesting he could be heading to Leinster.

Snyman has had a rough time at Munster; in addition to other problems, the towering second-row has had poor luck with injuries to his Anterior Cruciate Ligaments (ACL) in both knees.

Due to this, the team only made a few appearances, one of which being a run for the United Rugby Championship championship the previous season.

Race for his signature

Interest in the Springbok has been very high since Munster confirmed they would be keeping his compatriot Jean Kleyn and allowing Snyman to leave.

Initial reports suggested he had agreed a deal to reunite with former coach Johann van Graan at Bath for a

a reported annual salary of £450,000.There were rumors that the Stormers had entered the race for his signature in an attempt to present a larger offer, even though it was thought that the offer had been accepted.

As the story developed, it became increasingly apparent that Snyman would be leading Bath the following season. The Irish Times has now published some shocking rumors that Snyman would take Jason Jenkins’ place in the Leinster starting lineup, the departing South African lock.

South African reports indicate that the Sharks, who are located in Durban, are keen to recruit Jenkins, who was a player for the Bulls, Toyota Verblitz, and Munster before joining Leinster.

The Nienbaer effect

With the recent hiring of former Springbok coach Jacques Nienaber and his impact on the Leinster setup, Snyman’s transfer would not come as a surprise.

The 2023 World Cup winning strategist is thought to have already had an influence at the club, as seen by the Leinster defense’s faster line pace. This was demonstrated against La Rochelle, where the Dublin team overcame their opponents for the first time after falling to Ronan O’Gara’s team in back-to-back Champions Cup finals.

The Irish province is hoping to keep up their winning start in the competition when they take on the high-flying Premiership team Sale Sharks in their next match.
