Tottenham could be missing nine players against Nottingham Forest after Ange Postecoglou update
Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as Tottenham have a long injury list ahead of Premier League clash at the City Ground
When Tottenham plays Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, they might be without nine players.
After only one victory in 12 league games, Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs will make a significant visit to the City Ground on Friday night, marking another important game for Reds manager Steve Cooper. With their most recent 1-1 draw at Wolves, Forest broke the losing streak, and their prospects of winning again against Tottenham are enhanced by the lengthy injury list of their rivals.
In recent weeks, Postecoglou has had severe injury setbacks, most notably to important players like Micky van de Ven and James Maddison. They went five games without a victory as a result, but on Sunday they defeated Newcastle United 4-1.
The recovery of Richarlison and Pape Matar Sarr from their injuries against Newcastle gave Postecoglou hope. Still, he might be without nine players when Tottenham plays Forest.
“You brought up James and Micky, but you left out Bentancur. Perisic was crucial to our late-game victories; he was the one supplying Manor Solomon,” Postecoglou remarked. “I could write forever.
“I know it sounds like an excuse, but that’s the way the Premier League works, and it doesn’t take a lot of analysis to see why we haven’t been as definitive in our results over the last few weeks as we were earlier in the year.”
The entire list of injuries for Spurs before their encounter versus Forest is as follows:
Maddison James
Micky van der Ven
Eric Dier
Ivan Perisic
Manor Solomon
Rodrigo Bentancur
