The Cheetahs are expecting a baptism of fire when they hosts the Springbok-laden Sharks in Bloemfontein this weeke
The Cheetahs are keen to have a pop at the World Cup-winning Springboks in the Sharks team when they face off in a Challenge Cup clash n Sunday.
The Challenge Cup tournament began with victories for the Cheetahs and Sharks, with the former crushing Zebre 33-15 and the latter eliminating Pau 45-5.
Now, the two South African teams are headed for a meeting on Sunday in Bloemfontein during round two of the European championship. With many Springbok World Cup winners in the Sharks lineup, it also appears to be a bit of a mismatch on paper.

And the challenge of testing themselves against some of the best players in the world has everyone in the Cheetahs camp excited, according to head coach Hawies Fourie.
We’ll examine the Sharks’ performance and determine how we might adjust to their style of play in the upcoming match. Fourie was reported in the media this past weekend following the game, saying, “I haven’t seen their game yet, but I will watch it when we travel back.”
However, they defeated Pau handily, and now that they have all of their Springboks back, they will be a very formidable opponent on Sunday of next week.
“We face a great challenge in playing against a team with so many Springboks and their caliber, but that’s the whole point of participating in a competition like this: you get to test yourself against elite teams and well-known players.”
