Tottenham player signs new contract to keep him at the club until 2025

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Fraser Forster has just signed a new contract with the club, which will keep him in North London until 2025.

In order to challenge and cover for former number one Hugo Lloris, Fraser Forster joined Tottenham in the summer of last year. Due to injuries and bad form, Forster overtook the Frenchman before the end of the 2022–2023 season.

The 35-year-old has made 21 appearances for the Lilywhites in the previous 18 months (Transfermarkt), but new arrival Guglielmo Vicario has once again blocked his route to regular first team action.

Forster has only made one game for Spurs this season (Transfermarkt), a Carabao Cup cameo in the team’s third-round loss to Fulham, despite the Italian being in excellent form

Forster is a valuable member of the Tottenham team, especially in the event that Vicario is hurt. Lloris is at the bottom of the hierarchy, and new goalie Brandon Austin is not nearly ready for the Premier League.

Thus, it should come as no surprise that Tottenham has taken steps to ensure Forster’s future by making a fresh contract offer to their number-two goalkeeper.

The 35-year-old signed a new contract with the club today, tying him to the N17 through the summer of 2025.

When speaking about his new deal, Forster stated, “I’ve loved being at the club since the moment I got here.” I’ve enjoyed my time here so far, and I’m happy to stay longer. Working with the new boss has been amazing; he’s been in and everyone adores him.

Being a part of what we’re doing and the atmosphere that permeates the stadium is amazing. It’s amazing

to provide the team whatever assistance I can… Not only the keepers, but everyone has benefited greatly from [Postecoglou] allowing us to play freely outside.

I’m hoping to remain for as long as I can. We have an amazing group. It’s clear that [Vicario] entered and performed admirably. All I can do is continue to put in a lot of effort in my training and help the other boys.

The club made a wise decision with this. Forster is unquestionably talented enough to be our backup goalkeeper, and he has the maturity to accept that this is his position without getting upset about it.
