Gabby Agbonlahor has now been voicing his disapproval of Michail Antonio’s recent comments on Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison.

Agbonlahor was addressing remarks Antonio had made on the “Footballer’s Football Podcast” during his discussion on talkSPORT.

Given his own lack of goals this season, the commentator felt Antonio’s criticism of Richardlison’s goal scoring record was disgraceful.

In addition, he bemoaned Antonio’s remarks and brought up a scene from West Ham’s loss to Brentford yesterday.

Agbonlahor found it a little offensive that Antonio was critiquing Richardson of Tottenham while he was still in his element.

He stated: “Every week, Antonio appears on a podcast where he talks about how desperate he is for goals. He was slipping in because he wants to discuss it on his podcast the following weekend.”

“You can’t be coming for Richarlison and then you’re not banging in goals yourself,” Agbonlahor said.

“Callum Wilson is scoring goals and putting in goals, so I don’t mind.

“But Antonio, you’re not supporting it.”

Whilst Richarlison does still have a very modest goal record at Spurs, his level of performances have been improving.

Like many under Ange Postecoglou, the Brazilian is now making clear progress in a more fluid and positive side.

Brennan Johnson, though, is already really challenging Richarlison for the starting position and may do so against Chelsea tomorrow.

In any case, Spurs supporters will undoubtedly believe that Richarlison, who cost $60 million, is better than anyone and doesn’t need to be criticized just yet.

And while Agbonhalor took issue with Antonio’s remarks rather than Richarlison’s critique, Tottenham supporters will be happy to see the words come through.

Furthermore, from their perspective, all attention will be on Monday’s encounter against their fierce rivals Chelsea.

With the players he brings with him, Mauricio Pochettino is probably going to meet with a cold reception back in North London.

And if previous encounters are any indication, this might be a pretty heated affair.
