‘I’m not changing my mind’: Alan Shearer predicts who’s winning the Premier League this season

Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker have now named three teams in contention for the league title: Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

On “The Rest Is Football Podcast,” Shearer, Lineker, and Micah Richards discussed their predictions for the Premier League.

Although Shearer wasn’t willing to budge on City, Gary Lineker thought Arsenal and Tottenham were right in the mix.

Shearer declared at the beginning, “I’m not changing my mind.” Saying “City,” I

Lineker then added his commentary, saying, “I went with Arsenal, of course.”

“Mostly because none of us could say City and only you two did!

“Yet they are there, right beside them, and it’s fantastic that Tottenham is competing for the title—definitely a race for a top four spot—and performing far better than they had predicted.”

Of course, the fact that Liverpool was left out is probably a little bit harsh.

It appears that this season will bring a four-horse race to the fans, which hasn’t happened in a very long time.

Shearer must believe that Arsenal and Tottenham are closing in on City even though he made no mention of them.

Of course, when comparing the three mentioned, Erling Haaland may ultimately make the difference.

Manchester City have a world-class goalscorer, and the same can’t always be said for the clubs in North London.

But at Tottenham, Son Heung-Min is now doing a fantastic job of taking Harry Kane’s goals.

Ian Wright acknowledges as one of his current favorite players.

However, Arsenal still lacks a player who can regularly score 20 goals per season.

Despite having many exceptional qualities, Gabriel Jesus hasn’t shown himself to be a reliable goal scorer.

Furthermore, Alan Shearer remains skeptical about Eddie Nketiah’s capacity to set the tone for Mikel Arteta.

Shearer notes that while City remains the clear favorites to win the championship, Arsenal and Tottenham also need to think they have a real chance.
