They are out…’ – Pep Guardiola makes interesting Tottenham prediction

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes Tottenham will be in the mix for the title this season.

Tottenham have had a terrific start to the season as they sit on the top of the table with a 5 point lead over Manchester City who play Manchester United later tonight.

They have won eight games, drawn two, and are still unbeaten in the league.

Many people were taken aback by their performances, as nobody anticipated Ange Postecoglou would have the kind of impact he has and how quickly.

Speaking to the media prior to the Manchester Derby, Pep Guardiola praised Tottenham and declared that they will “definitely” be a contender for the championship.

In addition, he noted that Spurs will be significantly more rested throughout the season than the other teams vying for first place because they are not participating in the League Cup and have no obligations in Europe.

He said:

“Look at Spurs now, how good they are playing. One game a week, they have to be fresh all of the season, they are out of the Carabao Cup, so Spurs will be there for sure, definitely, with the quality they have, always they had the quality and now with the manager they have right now…”

TBH Says:

We might not have enough depth in our squad to match teams like City all season. Our season could be impacted by a few injuries.

A lot will depend on our position in the league at the end of January and our ability to add multiple quality players to our roster.

However, a top four finish would actually be a fantastic accomplishment for Ange in his debut season and will give him a solid base to work from in the following one.

Report: Interesting reason Postecoglou passed on signing one player for Spurs

According to The Guardian, Tottenham Hotspur decided against signing an unidentified player in the summer because Ange Postecoglou felt that the player’s main motivation was to leave his previous team.

Spurs’ summer hiring choices have proven to be successful, as James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, and Guglielmo Vicario have all made rapid progress in North London.

Prior to his injury, Manor Solomon also displayed some promise, and the team is hoping that Brennan Johnson will demonstrate his worth in the upcoming days, weeks, and months.

Postecoglou wants people who want to join Spurs

The Guardian has now explained that one of Postecoglou’s non-negotiables when deciding who to sign was to look at players who were desperate to come to the club.

According to the report, the head coach of Tottenham allegedly spoke with every player during the summer and only approved the deals if he had the proper feeling about them.

According to the outlet, the Lilywhites were so convinced that a player was more motivated to leave his group than to join Spurs that they passed on him this summer.

It is explained that Postescoglou instead opted to sign a very eager player to fill that position.

Since Tottenham appeared to give up on the Spaniard and quickly turn their focus to Vicario in the early part of the transfer window, I believe the player in question is David Raya.
