The All Blacks were robbed, says sour New Zealand politician after Springboks win Rugby World Cup
A New Zealand politician has reacted angrily after the Springboks created history on Saturday by beating the All Blacks to win a fourth Rugby World Cup title.
Willie Jackson, the cabinet minister for New Zealand, expressed his emotions on his official Facebook page after the referee “robbed” the All Blacks.
At the Stade de France in Paris, Handre Pollard scored all twelve points as Siya Kolisi’s team managed to hold on for a historic 12-11 victory.
With the victory, the Springboks became the first team to win the tournament four times and joined the All Blacks as the only teams to win back-to-back titles.

Im getting tired of hearing how the best team won the Rugby World cup, what a load of bloody nonsense.
The best team clearly lost todays game, and the All Blacks were the better side, but we were robbed by a referee who apparently is the Number one ref in the world but clearly is a bogey referee for us and I am not talking about his decision to red card Sam Cane. No, I am talking about him giving South Africa 3 points that he admitted was a mistake. When Wayne Barnes said to Ardie Savea sorry mate I made a mistake , he should have then stopped the penalty but he didn’t. It’s crazy how referees can pull back tries when they make mistakes but here we had one who
felt he had erred. given a fine, expressed regret, and then carried out the error!
Yes, we still should have won with 14 men and we had our chances, but the Barnes error completely taints the Springbok victory, giving them a win they did not deserve. The Boks played to their strengths, no doubt about it, but it is shameful to win a game on a penalty that the referee calls incorrect.
The TMO’s intervention in the match, which guaranteed an All Black defeat, was equally shameful. Not only did the TMO incorrectly rule out the All Blacks’ opening try, but it also made a mistake by failing to red card the Springbok captain. I have watched over 50 years of Test rugby, and I have never seen a worse decision. It made me sick to watch and hear the referee freely admit he made a mistake and then move on. Congratulations to our team for pulling off the biggest scam in Rugby World Cup history. Like our 95 team, the All Blacks were defeated by a Bok team that wasn’t any better than us, but that’s what makes rugby so amazing and the reason we keep watching.
I won’t be watching for a while, but I have to admit after that outcome!
