Tottenham dismissed, as Man Utd great explains why Liverpool, Arsenal are Man City’s real challengers

Manchester United treble winner, Dwight Yorke, has brushed off talk of Tottenham challenging Manchester City for the title, and instead explained why Liverpool and Arsenal are the real threats.

In many preseason predictions, Man City was expected to once again dominate the Premier League.

Kevin De Bruyne, the company’s chief creative officer, has a significant hamstring injury, which might keep him out for up to four months.

When Rodri was also out from City’s midfield, they lost back-to-back Premier League matches before the international break, despite initially adjusting well to De Bruyne’s absence. Due to a three-game suspension, the Spaniard was ineligible for the losses to Wolves and Arsenal.

The debate over who will be proclaimed the kings of England at the end of the season has been reignited in light of signs of City’s weakness. The four teams commonly regarded as having a real chance of winning the trophy are table-toppers Tottenham, City, Arsenal, and Liverpool.

Dwight Yorke, the Manchester United treble champion, now supports Liverpool and Arsenal as serious rivals to City, according to statements published by the Liverpool Echo.

Yorke mentioned Liverpool’s offensive strength, and he did so with justification. In fact, the Reds have scored two goals or more in nine of their 11 games this season in all competitions.

Spurs did not cross Yorke’s mind, but Arsenal did.

Man City vulnerable without De Bruyne and Gundogan?

“I think the title race is between Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool,” said Yorke. “It’s very silly to write off Liverpool,

especially when you consider their attacking potential and player pool.

“If you’re a football fan, you’d be crazy not to think Liverpool are in that conversation. I still think they’re a threat.

“We witnessed Arsenal defeating City and City losing to Wolves, both of which were unprecedented results.

“With Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan absent, there are some obvious fractures, and City aren’t as strong as they’d want to be. But they’re still really good.

“There is some hope that Liverpool and Arsenal would seek for their chance. These three will be my top picks, with the others coming in second.

“Ask me about Tottenham in January” – Yorke

The odd team out when glancing at the current EPL table is Tottenham.

Additionally, without the distraction of European football throughout the week, Spurs will be optimistic about maintaining a title challenge.

Yorke believes Tottenham “look great,” but he is unsure if they can continue their early heroics.

Ask me about Tottenham in January, Yorke added, “I believe Spurs look excellent, and we’ve seen teams like Aston Villa lead the league at the start of [prior] seasons.

“Blackburn and Leicester are the odd exception in the Premier League, so I won’t write off Spurs and will give them more credit. In football, anything can happen, and that is what makes it so intriguing.

After December, “we’ll know what the league is really like, and that’s when we’ll know who’s really among it,”
