Director faces ‘obstacles’ to sign Tottenham player – Daniel Levy refusing to change stance
Tottenham Hotspur’s Pierre-Emile Højbjerg hasn’t enjoyed regular playing time under Ange Postecoglou and has been restricted to seven substitute appearances in the league this season.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Eric Dier of Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to quit the Premier League team in the near future.
As one of the Premier League’s surprise packages this season, Spurs have been a breath of fresh air under new head coach Ange Postecoglou.
After an undefeated start to the new season, Tottenham is presently tied for first place in the Premier League.
Over £200 million was spent by the London club in the summer transfer window, and Pochettino is likely to continue the renovation in January.
Postecoglou’s appointment has had a negative effect on Hojbjerg and Dier since the former Celtic head coach is phasing them out.
The seasoned pair have yet to make an appearance for Tottenham in the Premier League this season, and Hojbjerg was linked to Manchester United until they signed Sofyan Amrabat.

As a player to watch in January, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg just switched agents. He was on Manchester United’s list in the summer, but Sofyan Amrabat was always the preferred candidate, according to Romano, speaking to Caught Offside.
“Hojbjerg was on the list at other teams as well, including Atletico Madrid, who made a valiant effort to persuade Tottenham, but an agreement could not be reached. Hojbjerg is still motivated to go, so let’s wait and see what transpires in January.
“One issue to consider is that this year’s AFCON is taking place, so Tottenham might not be eager to let Hojbjerg go when they can anticipate being without him.”
This complicates things a little, but Hojbjerg is open to moving, whether it happens in January or next summer.
Romano advised that for Dier at this time, “trying something new” would be ideal for the England international.
“Eric Dier’s contract at Tottenham is also about to expire, and there are currently no discussions about a renewal. Dier could move in January, but it will depend on the ideas, said Romano.
Personally, I believe that trying something new is the wisest course of action right now for both parties. Dier can absolutely start every game somewhere else, though I am not currently aware of any concrete plans with Roma, despite rumors.
