Director faces ‘obstacles’ to sign Tottenham player – Daniel Levy refusing to change stance

Tottenham Hotspur’s Pierre-Emile Højbjerg hasn’t enjoyed regular playing time under Ange Postecoglou and has been restricted to seven substitute appearances in the league this season.

Due to the midfielder’s circumstances at the north London club, Juventus, which is trying to bolster the same position in January, has been connected to the player.

The 28-year-old has been named as a target by Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli following intense lobbying from the club’s local media and perhaps the player’s representatives.

Calciomercato. There are ‘no shortage of hazards’ for the Serie A team to lure him away from Tottenham, according to the report.

The Italian club have an urgent need to sign a new midfielder following Nicolo Fagioli’s suspension and could also be without Paul Pogba. This is where the Denmark international would fit in but Giuntoli will face several ‘obstacles’ to secure his services.

Juve are looking to sign him on loan without an obligation to buy. It’s claimed Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has no intention to release the player under this condition and will only let him leave on a permanent transfer for €30m.

The two starting midfielders for Spurs this year have been Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma. Due to their participation in AFCON, the pair will miss the start of the following season, which would provide the Dane extra playing time.

Competition from Atlético Madrid will be another challenge for Juve to overcome in order to secure Hjbjerg. If Los Rojiblancos choose to purchase him, the Italian club might lose out on this deal, according to the report.

These are the ‘obstacles’ that Juventus and Giuntoli will encounter in their attempts to sign the Spurs midfielder in January.

Spurs outcast told to pursue ‘something new’ as Man Utd-linked teammate awaits exit ‘green light’

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Eric Dier of Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to quit the Premier League team in the near future.

As one of the Premier League’s surprise packages this season, Spurs have been a breath of fresh air under new head coach Ange Postecoglou.

After an undefeated start to the new season, Tottenham is presently tied for first place in the Premier League.

Over £200 million was spent by the London club in the summer transfer window, and Pochettino is likely to continue the renovation in January.

Postecoglou’s appointment has had a negative effect on Hojbjerg and Dier since the former Celtic head coach is phasing them out.

The seasoned pair have yet to make an appearance for Tottenham in the Premier League this season, and Hojbjerg was linked to Manchester United until they signed Sofyan Amrabat.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Hojberg’s predicament may be “complicated” by Yves Bissouma’s participation in the African Cup of Nations.

As a player to watch in January, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg just switched agents. He was on Manchester United’s list in the summer, but Sofyan Amrabat was always the preferred candidate, according to Romano, speaking to Caught Offside.

“Hojbjerg was on the list at other teams as well, including Atletico Madrid, who made a valiant effort to persuade Tottenham, but an agreement could not be reached. Hojbjerg is still motivated to go, so let’s wait and see what transpires in January.

“One issue to consider is that this year’s AFCON is taking place, so Tottenham might not be eager to let Hojbjerg go when they can anticipate being without him.”

This complicates things a little, but Hojbjerg is open to moving, whether it happens in January or next summer.

Romano advised that for Dier at this time, “trying something new” would be ideal for the England international.

“Eric Dier’s contract at Tottenham is also about to expire, and there are currently no discussions about a renewal. Dier could move in January, but it will depend on the ideas, said Romano.

Personally, I believe that trying something new is the wisest course of action right now for both parties. Dier can absolutely start every game somewhere else, though I am not currently aware of any concrete plans with Roma, despite rumors.
