How did Heung-min Son perform last season?

Having started the new term in blistering fashion, with six goals already in just eight league games, it is crazy to think that the South Korean is already over halfway towards matching his goal tally from last season.

His poor performance was evident in the fact that he only scored ten league goals for the entire season and only scored once in his first 15 games, although a hat-trick. It represented such a drastic decline from a player who won the Golden Boot in 2021/22 and seemed unstoppable throughout the entire season.

Despite this, he has spoken out about the positive leadership change that is helping everyone, not just him: “I am very pleased that I am working with him. As a player and a person, I have gained so much knowledge. Although the voyage has been amazing thus far, I believe our future collaboration will be even more enjoyable.

Given how significant Son is to him once more, it may seem ridiculous to say it now, but there would have

certainly been grounds for questioning Conte’s decision to sell Steven Bergwijn, who was starring in his homeland whilst pure devastation occurred in N17.

Why did Spurs sell Steven Bergwijn?

Having joined under Mourinho, the acquisition of the Dutch winger marked an exciting one given he had scored five and assisted ten in just 16 Eredivisie matches in the run-up to January, and had commanded a mouth-watering £25m fee.

With his outbursts and loud condemnation of players and staff, the Italian could have caused years’ worth of damage to Spurs, upsetting those in the background.

Their worst mistake may have been letting him approve the departures of once-promising players, since Bergwijn might have had a chance had he been taken under the wing of the former Celtic player who is currently imperturbable.
