£26M TOTTENHAM ACE CLAIMS POSTECOGLOU HASN’T EXPLAINED ABSENCE
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg claims that he hasn’t been given an explanation for his lack of starts.
Ange Postecoglou doesn’t appear to have made any effort to justify Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s diminished position this season.
Tottenham made a significant change by selecting Postecoglou to succeed Antonio Conte.
The aggressive style of play that Postecoglou favors has been a welcome change from Conte-ball.
As a result, Hjbjerg has played less due to Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr taking on larger duties in midfield.
Hjbjerg was a dependable player under Conte but has yet to start a Premier League game this year.
Only 126 minutes of Premier League action, spread across seven substitute appearances, have been allotted to the 28-year-old.
Hojbjerg has confessed that he hasn’t really been given an explanation, which is a significant letdown for him.
According to Hojbjerg, who spoke to Ekstrabladet, he hasn’t spoken with manager Postecoglou to explain why he isn’t now on the team.
Although the former player for Bayern Munich has promised to be open with Postecoglou, he maintains that the coach doesn’t actually require an explanation.
Hojbjerg is trying to convince Postecoglou to reconsider his decision, but is really simply focused on working hard and regaining his place in the Tottenham team.
I must be honest; I don’t have that conversation. My strategy is to remain focused on the issues that I can influence, stated Hojbjerg. “I have to be prepared to assist the group if necessary. I therefore take care to train effectively and maintain my course.
“We have a new coaching staff, and we play a different style of football than we did last year. Things function flawlessly. Even though the season has only just begun, we are already in a really strong position and moving forward extremely well. Therefore, it’s about moving forward. Although I haven’t played as much as I usually do, it’s still something you have to accept and take lessons from.
“When I started playing a little more, I no longer required daily visits from someone to give me a pat on the back or point out my mistakes.I don’t always need someone to lead the way. So it doesn’t really concern me.It seems straightforward to me.
try to make myself relevant, but I’m not the one who sets the team, so I can only do my part to make it difficult for the coach,” he added.
Hojbjerg exit in 2024 surely on the cards
Due to Bissouma’s suspension for the match against Fulham, Hojbjerg is set to start for Tottenham on Monday.
Going forward, there may be more starts as a result of it, but Hojbjerg moving seems more likely.
Earlier in October, Corriere dello Sport stated that Manchester United, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid were all interested in signing Hojbjerg.
According to reports, Hojbjerg’s asking price is £26 million, and Tottenham are willing to sell.
We predict that Hojbjerg will be sold in 2024, whether it’s because Postecoglou feels the Danish player doesn’t match his style of play or because Tottenham just thinks it makes financial sense to do so.
