Tottenham now reportedly want to sign £45m midfielder who Harry Kane really likes

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move to sign Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City, and here’s what Harry Kane once said about him.

Spurs have had a great start to the season. They are unbeaten and are currently on top of the Premier League table, having picked up 20 out of a possible 24 points. That is extremely impressive, especially considering that Tottenham are doing it without Kane.

The midfielder Kalvin Phillips of Manchester City is a target for Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham, according to a recent report from Football Transfers.

The England international transferred from Leeds United to Pep Guardiola’s team last year for £45 million (Sky Sports). Many were concerned about how he would get any playing time before Rodri at the time, and those worries have been realized.

Only 760 of Phillips’ football playing time at Manchester City has been under Pep Guardiola. It is obvious that the Spaniard does not like him, so leaving during one of the upcoming two transfer windows might be in everyone’s best interests.

Spurs have emerged as potential suitors for Phillips, and if Spurs supporters need any more evidence of how excellent he is, consider what Kane had to say about him in 2021.

Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Oliver Skipp, and Rodrigo Bentancur are all available to the Spurs manager, albeit the latter is presently injured. This season, when Tottenham will often play just one game per week, there are plenty possibilities.

To compete in Europe again the next season, Spurs will need a considerably more potent team than they currently have. Hojbjerg has been strongly linked with a move away from the club, which makes a player like Phillips even more essential.
