Latest Tottenham news

Being a Spurs fan right now is quite exciting because Postecoglou’s vibrant, attack-minded brand of free-flowing football never fails to impress onlookers.

Given the Australian’s lack of experience in Europe’s top five divisions, there had been some concerns about his qualifications before to his appointment as Antonio Conte’s replacement. But up to this point, Tottenham’s manager has gone out of his way to disprove all doubters.

Following their thrilling 2-1 victory against Sheffield United on Saturday, Spurs have now won four of their first five Premier League games without losing.

Postecoglou’s team has scored 13 goals during that time, making them the third-highest goal scorers in the division, just behind high-flying Brighton and the treble-winning Man City of the previous season.

Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr, James Maddison, and Dejan Kulusevski, among others, have made a strong impression, and Postecoglou’s appointment seems to have given the team fresh energy.

Due to Postecoglou’s apparent success thus far, certain players may find it challenging to break into the first team given Spurs’ dominant performance.

However, certain team players have the ability to work their way into the manager’s plans, such as Bryan Gil, a promising attacking midfielder who is presently out with groin surgery.

The Spaniard hasn’t played a single minute for Postecoglou this season, in part because of his injury.

Speaking to Spanish source Estadio Deportivo, former Spurs winger Lamela expressed his interest in watching the 22-year-old try to break into Postecoglou’s first squad.

Gil is able to play on any wing. I’m interested to see if he can influence Postecoglou’s thinking, Lamela stated.

Lamela praises the midfielder even more, saying that he would be thrilled to see him return to Sevilla and team up with Gil.

Lamela responded, “I would love to, because of the person he is,” when asked if he would sign the Tottenham prospect. I get along well with him, and he is a fantastic friend.

How good is Bryan Gil?

With a superb reputation, the former Sevilla player joined Spurs in the summer of 2021. Conte even once compared him to Bernardo Silva of Man City.

In January, Conte remarked, “It was really important, you know about Bryan Gil, we are talking about a player who was born to play football.”

He picks up on football rapidly. He is incredibly shrewd and wise to grasp the circumstances. Then you understand how challenging this league is because you need to have good quality, be quick, and have good endurance, and he possesses these qualities.

“However, you must also have physical strength. I believe Gil is making significant progress in this area as well in comparison to previous season. He needs to build up his physical strength. He and Bernardo Silva, who is currently with Manchester City, are comparably comparable, in my opinion.

It would be intriguing to see what Gil’s role will be once he recovers from his wounds because he has also been dubbed a “magician.”
