Big update as Spurs are ‘getting closer’ to landing Nottingham forest young star

The Times have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are now edging closer to agreeing to a £50m deal with Nottingham Forest for Brennan Johnson.

Johnson is Ange Postecoglou’s main attacking target, according to Alasdair Gold, who stated on Sunday that the Australian sees the teenager as a “perfect fit” for his system.

Recently, it has come to light that Spurs are making active efforts to sign the 22-year-old before Friday night’s transfer deadline.

According to The Times, Forest is confident that Spurs will accept their offer of £50 million for the offensive midfielder during the ongoing negotiations between the two clubs.

According to reports, the Johnson negotiations are ‘progressing’ in the hopes of reaching a resolution before the deadline.

Spurs could include players in Brennan Johnson deal

According to the article, there is also a chance that some Tottenham players could go to the City Ground as part of the agreement, with Davinson Sanchez being one of such players.

Finally, the article notes that despite being courted by Brentford as well, the Forest star chooses to sign with the Lilywhites.

I was astonished to see the Spurs fans’ disapproval of this agreement on social media. Johnson might not be the most impressive dribbler in YouTube compilations, but he possesses all the necessary skills to be a good player.

The 22-year-old is a great presser, has a great engine, is always aware of his surroundings even when he is racing with the ball, is obviously not weak in one-on-one situations, and has superb finishing/ball hitting. I can absolutely understand why Postecoglou thinks highly of him.
