‘Useless’: President now admits he will let Spurs target leave, amid reports Tottenham are preparing £26m bid

Tottenham have now received a transfer boost after one President publicly revealed he is open to selling a target for Ange Postecoglou.

Under the Australian, Spurs have had a fantastic season, but a recent run of just one victory in four Premier League games has revealed that several areas in N17 still require improvement.

With only Heung-min Son and Richarlison scored more than six goals apiece in the Premier League for Spurs this season, the north Londoners are especially lacking a consistent goal source in the attacking department.

With his interest in a forward in Serie A, Ange Postecoglou seems all too aware of this, and it now looks like Tottenham has a good chance of completing this transaction.

Tottenham told Albert Gudmundsson will be allowed to leave

The president of Genoa, Alberto Zangrillo, has officially acknowledged that he would not prevent Albert Gudmundsson from completing a fantastic transfer this summer.

It follows reports from Inter Live that Spurs may offer £26 million for the Icelandic international, which would include Djed Spence, who is now making an impression while on loan at Genoa.

This season, Gudmundsson has excelled in Italy, making 34 appearances and tallying 16 goals with four assists.

Zangrillo told Radio Sportiva, “He is a young, serious guy who wants to cultivate ambitions that we are not able to guarantee at the moment,” in reference to the possibility of selling the Genoa No. 11 this summer. There’s no point in denying it.

“He has a domestic and global market; both sides have the right to express their opinions; the outcome is what counts.

“Let the player dream and leave it open for us to operate correctly on the market; I don’t deal with these things.” We now know how to adore our boys. We can close deals well and believe that in a few years Albert will be able to say, “I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for Genoa.”

Iceland international could help Heung-min Son

In our view, the signing of Gudmundsson could help Son contribute more in attack.

The South Korean international flourished when playing with Harry Kane as a partner; before the England international moved to Bayern Munich, the two of them had the most goal involvements in Premier League history (47).

Gudmundsson, 26, has scored the majority of his goals this season while playing as a secondary striker, so his offensive threat may assist create space for Son.
