The Memphis Grizzlies are attempting to recover from a disappointing season this year in the upcoming campaign. Memphis has more incentive going into the upcoming season even if a lot of what made this year frustrating was beyond their control due to several injuries that put them deep in the lottery.
The Grizzlies are aware of their abilities, having placed second in the Western Conference standings the two seasons before this one. Tyus Jones, a guard with the Washington Wizards, was one of the players that contributed significantly to those squads.
Jones played for the Grizzlies for four seasons, mostly as Ja Morant’s backup. Grizzlies player Desmond Bane recently stated on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Jones is free to return to Memphis anytime he pleases:
Although it seems doubtful, Jones will be a free agent this summer, so maybe both parties will give it some thought. Jones will always have the love of his former teammates in Memphis, who were a major part of what the Grizzlies were able to do during his tenure there.
After seeing a variety of players this season, the Grizzlies have some questions to address this summer. Memphis will want to assemble the strongest supporting group around them now that they have a strong core.
