TRANSFER UPDATE: Hammers Eager To Complete ’30 goals’ Sensation Deal

According to reports, Sammie Szmodics, a lifelong Hammers supporter who has been on fire this season, is a target for West Ham United.

The former Colchester player’s career hasn’t exactly taken off right away. With 24 goals in 41 games, Szmodics has emerged as the second-tier league’s top scorer. He is the first Blackburn player to accomplish this milestone since Alan Shearer did so in the 1995–96 season with a total of 30 goals in all competitions. The 28-year-old’s previous best was 16 goals for Peterborough United in the 2020–21 season, thus this represents a major breakthrough for him.

Szmodics, who is currently a star at Blackburn Rovers, believes he is ready to go up to the Premier League. A number of clubs have expressed interest in the prolific offensive midfielder due to his incredible goal-scoring performances this season.

He told Talksport, “I would like to think I’m ready to make the step up.” However, what matters most is having the chance to demonstrate my abilities at that caliber.

“Hopefully, the Championship has shown those who were skeptical of me that I am capable.” I’m confident in my ability to move up and achieve great success. Everyone wants to play in the Premier League; we’ll see what the future brings.
