Kevin Love gets real on comfort level with the Heat: ‘It has been a very happy year’

Love is undoubtedly nearing the end of his playing days, but he has adapted well to Miami’s system as Bam Adebayo’s backup center. Love stated that it “has been a very happy year” and that it has been “gratifying” to go through this transition and come out excellent from it in an interview with Ira Winderman of The Sun Sentinel.

“I think the thing that’s most gratifying to me is that going to a new location or a new team or a new You never know what’s going to happen in an organization or a new area, especially at this point in your career, Love remarked. And I had a ton of fun from that run last year, and I also met individuals with whom I’ll have relationships that transcend beyond basketball for the rest of my life.

“On June 10, immediately following Game 4 (of the NBA Finals), my daughter was born.” Love went on, “We bought a beautiful house in Miami. “It has been a very happy year, as we feel as though we got to start our life in a place where we have a lot of friends and a lot of great teammates and people in the organization who have become family pretty quick.”

Love said “I feel comfortable” in Miami

Being a part of an organization for a long time like Love was with the Cavaliers, it’s never a seamless and easy transition to move to a completely different place with the birth of a child in the horizon. However, Love uses the word “comfortable” when explaining how he is with Miami.

“I feel comfortable here as well as understanding what everyone, and I mean everybody, wants,” Love said via The Sun Sentinel. “And just being an absolutely bubbly guy and personality to be around. I think from that perspective, yes, I feel like I’m in a good spot.”

Up until his trade to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Terry Rozier, Kyle Lowry filled this role. Love expressed a desire to “take on that leadership role” and support the Heat’s veteran players as well as their younger counterparts.

Love remarked, “I definitely want to take on that leadership role.” “Because I can kind of reach out, meet guys halfway, and just connect with guys on different levels, whether they’re Bam, Tyler (Herro), Jimmy (Butler), or Niko (Jovic).” I do believe that I am capable of reaching out to each guy in some way.
