‘He went mad’… £17m Tottenham player was absolutely furious with teammates vs Man City

Guglielmo Vicario was furious with his Tottenham Hotspur teammates during Friday’s defeat to Manchester City.

After a late goal by Nathan Ake gave Pep Guardiola’s team a well-earned victory in north London, Spurs were eliminated from the FA Cup.

Although they played a strong defense that evening, Ange Postecoglou’s team was far from their best offensively.Tottenham frequently gave the ball away in risky situations and struggled to play past City’s press.

This season, Guglielmo Vicario has been essential to Tottenham’s style of play, enabling Postecoglou’s team to play out of the back with ease.

But the 27-year-old was forced to go long a few times on Friday, largely down to City’s relentless pressing.

And Vicario wasn’t happy with his teammate’s efforts to show for the ball, with Gold claiming the Italian was ‘going crazy’ after being forced to hoof the ball out for a throw-in.

In his most recent YouTube video, Gold talked about what Vicario did when he was given no other options and was trying to play out from the back.

The reporter remarked, “There was a time when Vicario caught the ball and he had nobody to pass it to.” That is not how the Postecoglou system works; someone is always bravely attempting to get a quick pass, but nobody is present.

“He became insane after having to purposefully kick it out of play to the side! I am aware that he acquired the moniker “Venom” from Italian broadcasters due to his intense outbursts on the field directed at teammates or other individuals.
