Sadly,Rugby loses another player to the NFL
A former England youth captain is set to become the latest rugby player to quit the sport due to his NFL ambitions.
Wales Wing Earlier this week, Louis Rees-Zammit stunned the sports world by announcing that he was giving up on his career. He was let go by Gloucester, his club, to pursue a deal in America.
The turbo-charged Lion was rumored to be heading to France at the end of the current campaign, but there had been no announcement that he intended to cross the Atlantic to participate in a new sport in the United States.
Rees-Zammit made a very uncommon but not unique step when he decided to play rugby in the NFL. Christian Wade, a former England player, is among the few other British rugby players who have followed suit in recent years.
However, Harry Mallinder’s decision to leave rugby in an attempt to pursue a different career means that the sport has now lost yet another player to American football.
