Ange decides next priority Spurs signing after Dragusin with exit for “sensational” ace possible
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has apparently identified a “priority” next signing, coming as Spurs seal deals for forward Timo Werner and defender Radu Dragusin.
Spurs complete double January signing
The two aforementioned players show up at N17 to bolster Postecoglou’s attacking and defensive options. Postecoglou has begged Spurs to complete their transaction as soon as possible during the transfer window.
Dragusin will join Spurs in a part-exchange deal worth in excess of £26 million, while Werner joins the team on a six-month loan with a buyout option valued at approximately £14.6 million (Fabrizio Romano).
For Postecoglou, the latter’s arrival is an especially welcome boost. Dragusin will provide Spurs the much-needed depth at center defense, as they have been severely lacking options in recent months.

“I don’t think too highly of either left- or right-sided center-back scenarios; all we need is another guy who can provide us some more depth and versatility in that position. The profile and qualities will be more important than left- or right-sidedness,” he told football.london.
“Micky was the ideal center back; we didn’t search for a left-sided center back at the beginning of the season. That being said, I would have signed him even if we had another left-sided player. It involves determining what is available by looking at the appropriate profile and qualities, then taking it from there.”

The focus now shifts to whether Tottenham can bolster other crucial areas or unload more of their undesired squad members, such as the out-of-favour Eric Dier.Promising young players like FC Copenhagen forward Roony Bardghji are rumored to be on Spurs’ radar. However, there have also been hints that they may try to sign a first-team midfield player.
Football Insider claims that Postecoglou now views midfield as a “priority” signing area, supporting this theory. Although the Australian is eager to bring in additional talent, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s future at the team may have an impact.
Hojbjerg is expected to leave Tottenham in January, and if interested teams can come to a deal, Football Insider says his departure is still a possibility. In particular, Spurs are looking to sign a new midfield player who is about 24 years old or younger since Postecoglou wants to develop a long-term project.
In fact, Postecoglou won’t allow the “sensational” Hojbjerg to leave unless he is positive he will find a successor, so in the lead-up to deadline day, the Spurs midfield room will be exciting to observe. According to other reports, Tottenham has reportedly already begun to consider alternatives for Dragusin.
