‘It’s massive’… Paul Robinson reacts after what he’s heard about £85k-a-week Tottenham player’s future now

BBC pundit Paul Robinson has had his say on Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier being linked with a move to Bayern Munich this month.

Ange Postecoglou asserted with confidence that he can still afford to trade Dier in the upcoming days, despite Ben Davies’ injury sustained last night.

Paul Robinson has weighed in on the matter and believes that Dier would benefit greatly from a transfer to Bayern because he has no future at Tottenham.

“It’s massive for him but you can quite clearly see he’s not part of Ange’s plans,” he said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“You look at the way he [Postecoglou] has performed this season, you look at the injuries he’s sustained, whether it’s from Micky van de Ven’s injury or Cristian Romero’s suspension. Even after those two went missing, Eric Dier hasn’t made sense. He has been selected to play center halves for four full backs.

“It tells you something if Eric Dier is unable to join that team. It’s not too bad if you can get a move to Bayern Munich at this point.

Dier has to leave Tottenham

Eric Dier’s future at Tottenham is evidently nonexistent.

Although his transfer to Bayern Munich comes as a bit of a surprise considering he hasn’t played much football this season, everyone was expecting him to leave this month. Ian Wright was taken aback to learn that.

But joining the most dominant side in the Bundesliga and relocating there ought to help Dier reach his peak again. It will undoubtedly be simpler for him than it was for Tottenham.

All sides will benefit greatly from this decision, and we have no doubt that Harry Kane will be happy to have his old friend by his side in Germany.
