‘A lot better’: Ange Postecoglou says £90k-a-week Tottenham player has looked so good in training

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has reiterated how much better Richarlison has been looking in training and on the pitch for Spurs.

The Tottenham boss, speaking ahead of Thursday night’s Premier League trip to Brighton, said Richarlison is

moving around after his operation with greater ease.

Following his recovery from surgery to treat a chronic pelvic problem last month, Richarlison has been playing very well for the Spurs.

The 26-year-old has helped Tottenham win their past three league games since he started playing again and caught up.

Throughout the three games, Richarlison has scored four goals. In addition to scoring against Nottingham Forest and Everton, he scored a brace against Newcastle.

The forward (Spotrac), who earns £90,000 a week, will be looking for more of the same as Spurs go to the south coast to face the formidable Seagulls.

‘He’s a talented player’

Football.london‘s Alasdair Gold asked Postecoglou at his pre-match presser whether Richarlison is playing better because he’s freer from his prior injury.

“Yeah,” began the Spurs boss. “Like I said, I’ve said a few times, they’re human beings and when you don’t feel 100 percent in yourself, whether it’s physically or mentally that’s going to affect your performance.

“Not that everything’s rosy in his life now, I’m sure he’s still got issues in there but especially with the physical side

After his surgery and recuperation, you could see that he felt much better about himself in terms of his training and movement style when he returned to the gym.

He simply moved with a lot more freedom. I believe that more than anything else has given him the courage and self-belief to enter games with more about his body.

He is without a doubt a gifted player. He has a great deal of Premier League goal experience. He has represented his nation on the field, but they are still human, and things don’t always go as planned. Both productivity and performance are impacted.

Richarlison back on top form for Tottenham Hotspur

The sight of Richarlison at his peak is very delightful. It simply goes to show that you never know what’s going on with a player behind the scenes, especially after all the criticism he experienced.

Richarlison has consistently been a superior athlete. It’s not what terrible players do to get from Brazil to the Premier League and to play and score goals for the Selecao in the 2022 World Cup.

It’s encouraging to watch Harry turn the curve, and Tottenham has also turned the corner when things went wrong during and after the Chelsea match.
