The Stormers have reportedly entered the race to sign Rugby World Cup-winning Springbok RG Snyman from Munster
According to reports, the Stormers are in the running to recruit Springbok RG Snyman, who won the Rugby World Cup.
Following Jean Kleyn’s signing of a new contract, which forced the former Bulls star to look for a new squad for the 2017 season, Snyman’s current team, Munster, stated last month that they would only be keeping one Springboks lock.

As predicted, rumors started to spread soon after Snyman’s resignation was announced. It wasn’t until recently that Snyman secured a £450,000-a-year contract with Bath, according to L’Equipe. Although those claims are unconfirmed, it appears like the Stormers are trying to sabotage the agreement.
The exceptional lock would now be reunited with Johann van Graan, who was responsible for originally bringing the Springbok to Munster as the Irish province’s coach back in the day.
After the Bulls and Sharks were turned off by Snyman’s hefty price, Rapport claims that the Stormers are also interested in signing him.
Reportedly, Western Province Rugby’s new equity partners, Red Disa, are trying to lure the Springbok back to South Africa with an alluring offer of R13 million, or around £550,000. As a Player of National Interest, Snyman will get a portion of his salary from the governing body, potentially reaching R9 million.
The main concern is that finding the funds in time would be difficult because Red Disa’s equity agreement recently ended and is still being executed. This might significantly affect how the drama around the deal plays out.
Snyman would be a great addition to the Stormers and offer even more oomph up front to the Cape Town team’s free-flowing style, thanks to his outstanding offloading abilities.
