Report: Tottenham want to sign ‘incredible’ CB who’s just kept 6 clean sheets in a row; same agent as Son
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly rekindled their interest in Gleison Bremer ahead of the January transfer window.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Spurs “remain on the lookout” with regards to the Juventus defender.
As well as Tottenham, the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United are also keen on Bremer, who has been impressing for the Serie A giants.
Spurs have found themselves in a defensive crisis which highlights the lack of strength in depth in their ranks.
Cristian Romero is suspended, and Micky van de Ven sustained a hamstring injury during Monday night’s loss to Chelsea.
In light of this, Tottenham might consider adding players in January in an effort to keep up their momentum and place in the top four.
Bremer, meanwhile, has been increasingly more successful at Juventus and has become even more well-known.
The Bianconeri have kept eight clean sheets this season, including six in a row in Serie A thanks to his efforts.
The Brazilian is reportedly valued at €80 million (£69 million) by Juventus, according to a summer report from Il Bianconero.
‘Comparable to Virgil van Dijk’
In 2022, Bremer was the Serie A Defender of the Year, and last term, he made it into their Team of the Season.
Bremer’s statistics from last summer were “comparable to Virgil van Dijk and Ruben Dias,” according to scouting publication Foot The Ball.
In addition to being a superb ball-presser, he excels at recovery, interceptions, aerial duels, and poses a threat on the opposing end of the field.
Bremer is “a true Serie A defender,” according to FTB. Without any difficulty, he can intercept, tackle, and clear the ball.
Regarding Tottenham ties, Bremer is a member of the same agency that represents five first-team players for Tottenham.
The “incredible” defender is accompanied by Son Heung-min, James Maddison, Richarlison, Pedro Porro, and Pape Matar Sarr from CAA Base.
