Springbok flyhalf Manie Libbok has responded firmly to recent criticism from former World Cup-winning coach Jake White, who questioned his consistency and suitability at the highest level. Libbok, who played a key role in South Africa’s 2023 Rugby World Cup campaign, said he remains focused on his game and is not distracted by external opinions.

“Everyone is entitled to their view, but I trust my coaches, my teammates, and the work I put in daily,” Libbok said in a recent interview. “Criticism will always be there, especially when you play for the Springboks. I use it as motivation, not discouragement.”

White, currently coaching the Bulls, had expressed concerns about Libbok’s tactical kicking and game management. However, Libbok’s recent performances in the URC and Champions Cup have drawn praise for his attacking flair, composure under pressure, and growing maturity.

Libbok emphasized the importance of support within the squad and praised the current Springbok coaching staff for backing his development. “The environment is one where we learn from each other and grow. That’s what matters most.”

With several key internationals ahead, Libbok is determined to silence his doubters through consistent performance. “I’ll let my rugby do the talking,” he added confidently.
