Jared Bednar brutal reaction to Colorado Avalanche controversial decision

Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar expressed strong frustration following a controversial play in a recent game against the Buffalo Sabres. In the third period, Sabres forward Zach Benson collided with Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood, who remained on the ice in apparent pain.

Despite Wedgewood’s condition, play continued, and the Sabres scored. Bednar criticized the officials for not stopping the game, emphasizing that player safety should take precedence. He stated, “If he’s hurt and he’s not getting up… the whistle should go.”

Bednar also challenged the goal for goaltender interference, though he acknowledged the likelihood of the call being overturned was slim. Wedgewood was later replaced by Mackenzie Blackwood and is expected to miss some time due to the injury. (FOX Sports, Chron, Houston Chronicle)
