Norwell’s Ozzy Trapilo proceed to sign a four years contract with the Chicago bears as he is selected in NFL Draft.

The 23-year-old Boston College offensive tackle, of Norwell, was selected by the Chicago Bears with the 56th pick in the second round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
Trapilo, who starred at BC High in high school, stands 6-foot-8 and 316 pounds. As a graduate senior this past season for the Eagles, he started 12 games at right tackle and received first-team All-ACC honors.
Trapilo is the first BC Eagle chosen since receiver Zay Flowers was a first-round selection of the Baltimore Ravens in 2022. He is the program’s highest-picked tackle selected since Anthony Castonzo by the Indianapolis Colts in the first round in 2011.

Trapilo made 36 starts in his collegiate career: 10 at left tackle in 2022, and 24 at right tackle in the past two seasons
In 2024, he was earned All-ACC First Team honors. In 2023, he was on the All-ACC Second Team.
In the fall, Trapilo was named the ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week after the Eagles tallied 420 yards against North Carolina.

NFL.com wrote this about Trapilo: “Trapilo could operate as a swing tackle early on but his potential in pass protection gives him a good chance to become a starter.”
Pro Football Focus wrote that Trapilo could be a steal. “The Boston College product performed well on true pass sets last year, which may be an indication that he can outperform his likely mid-round draft slot.”
