Springboks veteran Steven Kitshoff recently undergone neck fusion surgery.

Springbok prop, Kitshoff faces an uncertain future in the green and gold following a horrific neck injury.

Moreover, following his surgery Kitshoff has seemingly made peace over the possibility of never playing rugby again. Here is the latest on the Bok veteran.

SPRINGBOK PROP MAKES PEACE WITH WORST CASE SCENARIO

Kitshoff is as tough as they come. The steady, front-row powerhouse has been instrumental to the Springboks success over the past few years. Furthermore, he is one of the key cogs in the world-renowned and feared Bok scrum.

However, there is a possibility that he may have played for the Boks for the last time. So, although Kitshoff has not officially retired, the nature of his injury in tandem with his recent comments have funs considering the worst.

Kitshoff underwent fusion neck surgery. Thereafter, he respectfully pleaded fans to only listen to updates from him. Not from external sources or other media outlets.

Moreover, since then, he has made peace over the possibility of never playing rugby again.

“I still have the passion and drive. If it’s not meant to be, I’ll make peace with it, but I haven’t thought beyond next month,” Kitshoff stated on SA rugby mag.

Meaning, he is still hungry to play and he will if he can. Unfortunately, there is a very real possibility of Kitshoff having to retire too.

KITSHOFF REMAINS POSITIVE

Thankfully, the Bok veteran peace with possibly being forced to hang up his boots.

Hopefully, this is not the case. Whilst, it seems likely Kitshoff is remaining positive.

“I’m proud of what I’ve done – winning the Rugby Championship, URC, and Currie Cup. If this is the end, I’ve made great memories,” Kitshoff stated on the same publication.

“This time has been refreshing, almost like a sabbatical. It’s allowed me to focus on my life outside of rugby,” he added.

Therefore, Kitshoff has not officially retired but he has made peace with the possibility. The Springboks prop remains positive and grateful. He is taking it one day at a time – step-by-step before making the necessary big decision.
