KAIZER CHIEFS TO PROMOTE ROYCE MALATJI

After becoming a development superstar in 2023, Amakhosi‘s 16-year-old Royce Malatji has attracted the attention of senior coaches. According to Soccer Laduma, Malatji, who can play on either side of full-back, wings and central midfield, is moving close to first team football.

The report added that Malatji will continue playing for the Kaizer Chiefs DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) team, while also training with the senior team.

THREE MILLION WATCHED AMAKHOSI MATCH

Remember the Betway Premiership match between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns last month?

The date was 28 September on a Saturday at the FNB Stadium. Ranga Chivaviro opened the scoring for Amakhosi before Sundowns responded with two goals by Iqraam Rayners and Lucas Ribeiro.

According to Bizcommunity, the match was a delight for the relevant sponsors. No less than 3.26 million watched the match on SABC 1 and SuperSport 202.

Kaizer Chiefs’ kit sponsor enjoyed R1.9 million in advertising value, Vodacom enjoyed R1.6 million, while Absa, Toyota and SuperSport earned R1.5 million worth of brand exposure each.

Meanwhile, the two teams have another battle this coming weekend. The mighty Sundowns will again visit Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium for the Carling Knockout quarter-finals. Kick-off will be at 18:00.

KAIZER CHIEFS TO LOAN OR RELEASE PLAYERS

While Kaizer Chiefs plan to sign a few new quality players like Oswin Appollis, Fiston Mayele, Michael Olunga, and Feisal Salum, coach Nabi is also determined to reduce the squad’s size with loan or permanent exits.

“Even if new players come on board in January the coach still wants to cut down the squad to a manageable one, and they are looking at all the players to either be loaned out or to be permanently sold in January as he wants to keep the players happy and have a more competitive nature at the club,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.

“So as much as there is a budget for the head of scouting in January there will still be players leaving.”

Kaizer Chiefs have secured a new defensive mind in their dugout while they continue to chase new creative talents to bolster the squad.

INVINCIBLE DUO FOR KAIZER CHIEFS

Kaze and Nasreddine Nabi have won six trophies together. In 2021-2022, Yanga conceded a miserly tally of eight goals in the league. In the following campaign, they went on an unbeaten streak which stretched their record to 49 matches without a defeat. KAZE WANTS SALUM AT CHIEFS

According to Soccer-Laduma, Cedric Kaze has suggested Chiefs battle Sundowns for Tanzanian midfielder Feisal Salum. He’s a player Kaze and Nasdreddine Nabi know well with their vast experience of league football in that country. However, rumoured interest from Masandawana would drive the 26-year-old’s price up. Salum has 37 caps and three goals for his country.

NABI COMPLAINS ABOUT OFFICIATING AFTER A DRAW WITH MAGESI

Chiefs trailed 2-0 to Magesi before a quick-fire Mduduzi Shabalala brace salvaged a point for the visiting Glamour Boys. Amakhosi boss Nabi lamented the official’s failure to award his side a spot-kick when Wandile Duba appeared to be fouled in the box. Via The Citizen:
