Kaizer chiefs

JUST IN:: Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi laments over missed chances and …. in SuperSport United loss.

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi admits his side failed to take their chances in the 1-0 Betway Premiership loss to SuperSport United.

Tashreeq Morris scored the only goal at the Peter Mokaba Stadium after 44 minutes.

Amakhosi had 14 shots throughout the tie although just three on target to Matsatsantsa’s eight attempts and one shot that found the back of the net.

Chiefs had beaten SuperSport 4-0 in their Carling Knockout Cup clash last weekend but were second best in this tie.

Speaking after the match, Nabi explained that despite controlling much of the tie, they failed to convert, for their second league loss of the season, after also losing to Mamelodi Sundowns.

“It’s a game we controlled practically the whole game, unfortunately, we created many opportunities but we couldn’t score and the opponent had only one opportunity and they scored it,” Nabi said.

“Our young players need to understand to win a football game you need to put the ball in the net but we believe that it’s a lesson, even if it’s a tough one, we hope we can do better.”

Nabi calls for Broos to select his biggest Kaizer Chiefs star

“If he is fully fit, we feel he deserves to play for Bafana Bafana,” Kaizer Chiefs coach wants star player in the national team.

Nasreddine Nabi wants Hugo Broos to give his influential player at Kaizer Chiefs a Bafana Bafana call-up.

Gaston Sirino has been Amakhosi‘s best player this season, scoring two goals and providing three. Since the Uruguayan player was eligible to play for Bafana, there have been calls to include him in the national team.

His coach Nabi believes that the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns winger deserves to play for the South African’s men national soccer team.

CHIEFS STAR SIRINO KNOCKING ON BAFANA’S DOOR, WILL BROOS OPEN?

“We believe that the national coach was not here only for Sirino because in SuperSport and Kaizer Chiefs, there are many players who play in Bafana Bafana and those are his players,” Nabi said, per iDiski Times.

“If Sirino was part of the players he came to observe, unfortunately, it was not a good day for him to show his value because he’s been injured all week.

“He trained once this week, we wanted to start him to see what he can give us,” he added.

“But we were very aware that he was not fully fit, but if he is fully fit, we feel he deserves to play for Bafana Bafana.”

Broos has in the past omitted Kaizer Chiefs players from his team. He argued that at the time the club was not doing well and none of the players deserved a call-up. Under Nabi’s tenure, Broos has picked a few Amakhosi in his Bafana squad.

Bafana Bafana are back in action next month for the Africa Cup of Nations(Afcon) qualifiers.
