Tottenham Hotspur may find it really difficult to sell one player this summer.

Spurs deserve a lot of credit for the work they’ve done in this window so far. Timo Werner and Archie Gray’s arrivals have boosted their squad, and they’ve freed up a lot of space by moving players on as well.

Tanguy Ndombele, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Bryan Gil among others have all been pushed out of Tottenham, which is great, but there are a few others who need to go before the window shuts.

However, one of them has been rejecting all the offers he has been receiving this summer.

Why Sergio Reguilon is rejecting offers to leave Tottenham

Tottenham signed Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020 in a £32 million deal (Sky Sports).

The Spaniard came in with a lot of hype and initially performed really well under then-Spurs-boss Jose Mourinho. He was a regular in his debut campaign and finished the season with five assists.

Reguilon’s game time at Tottenham then gradually reduced, and he was sent out on loan to Atletico Madrid in the 2022/23 season.

Things didn’t work out there either, and he spent two more spells away on loan – first at Manchester United and then at Brentford.

Reguilon is back at Tottenham now, but it’s clear as day he has no future at Spurs. Ange Postecoglou even left him out of his pre-season tour so that he can find a new club.

Sami Mokbel has revealed that Reguilon has received ‘numerous offers’ to leave Tottenham but he has rejected them all.

That’s because he only wants to join a club who will play in Europe next season.

Mokbel tweeted: “Sergio Reguilon, back at Spurs, has rejected numerous offers, wants to sign for a club playing in Europe.”

Reguilon would love to join Tottenham’s Premier League rivals

Tottenham have Destiny Udogie at left-back, and he is their undisputed starter there.

Ben Davies is currently the backup to the Italian, while Micky van de Ven was also deployed at left-back in the 2023/24 season. He is more than capable of playing there when required.

Reguilon is surplus to requirements at Tottenham, and everyone expects him to leave the club before the window shuts at the end of August.

The defender has rejected many offers already, but there is one club who he would love to join.

Fabrizio Romano revealed recently that Reguilon would gladly accept a move to Manchester United, who are on the market for a new left-back.

It remains to be seen if the Red Devils will consider signing him.
