The Evening Standard have revealed that while Luka Vuskovic is set to sign for Tottenham Hotspur, he will not link up with his expected new club for two more years. 

The lack of another senior center-back to join Micky van de Ven and the Spurs team before the summer transfer window closed may have disappointed some fans.

The North London club did, however, recruit Ashley Phillips, one of the most highly regarded young English central defenders, and they appear to be close to adding another defensive talent.

The Lilywhites have reportedly reached a personal agreement with Vuskovic and are working with his club, Hajduk Split, to finalize the deal, according to a report by Fabrizio Romano on Sunday.

Luka Vuskovic will not arrive at Spurs until 2025 

The Croatian starlet is undoubtedly about to sign with Tottenham, according to The Evening Standard, although they clarify that he won’t join the Premier League team right away.

As part of the plan to continue his development in his own country for the time being, Vuskovic is predicted to stay at Hajduk Split until he reaches 18, and is scheduled to move to Hotspur Way in the summer of 2025.

The outlet also discloses that the fee for signing the promising young defender is estimated to be around £12 million.

Vuskovic, who is only 16 years old, is far from a finished product, therefore it will be in his best interests to play in the Croatian top division for a few more years.

The central defender will be significantly more advanced when he joins Spurs, as was the case with Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr (who were loaned back to Udinese and Metz respectively).
