Transfer: Tottenham are accelerating deal to sign ‘devastating’ £33m Euro 2024 attacker

According to a recent source, Tottenham is currently seeking to buy a deadly attacker during the summer transfer window.

The North Londoners have emerged as rumored targets throughout the summer transfer season, demonstrating their activity.

They have also been working on a number of departures, including rumored departures of Rodrigo Bentancur, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Emerson Royal.

However, it appears that they are now prepared to proceed with a deal for a highly regarded attacker.

Tottenham pushing hard to sign Albert Gudmundsson

According to La Repubblica, via Pianeta Genoa, Tottenham Hotspur are pushing hard to sign Genoa attacker Albert Gudmundsson.

West Ham United are also trying to accelerate the deal for the 27-year-old, who netted 16 times whilst laying on five assists last term.

Lazio, Roma, Inter and Napoli are among the Italian clubs circling for his signature – which is expected to cost around £33m.

Lazio offered a player-plus cash deal but Genoa are only interested in a straight cash transaction.

Albert Gudmundsson statistics

Gudmundsson, who has been labelled as devastating’, excels in a number of metrics on FBref.

The 37-cap Iceland international ranks in the top six per cent for shot-creating actions per 90 compared to his positional peers across Europe, evincing his elite playmaking ability.

Further, he sits in the top 10 per cent for progressive passes, only amplifying that notion.

Interestingly, he is of a similar profile to Joshua Zirkzee – who has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal and Manchester United.

If Tottenham do land Gudmunsson’s signature this summer, they’d be getting a versatile attacker who is well-polished in a number of areas.
