A Michigan-based offensive lineman talks about his Kentucky offer and camp experience.
Novi (Mich.) Detroit Catholic Central rising junior offensive lineman Benjamin Eziuka received his first SEC and Power Four offer recently when he camped at Kentucky and picked up an offer from the Wildcats.
“Kentucky has some amazing facilities that stack up with anywhere in the country,” Eziuka said. “Something that stood out was how long Coach Stoops has been there and now is the longest tenured coach in SEC. With how college football is now, with a lot of coaching moving every year. it is nice to have a sense of stability at Kentucky. I also liked how many guys they have from around the Detroit area and how they think highly of players from the area. I loved getting to work with Coach Wolf. His résumé speaks for itself with how many guys he has developed into NFL players and I can see why seeing how hard he coaches. He teaches you to play smart and physical which is something how I like to play.”
Eziuka is a 6-foot-3, 310-pound interior prospect with a 4.6 GPA who excels in both wrestling and academics. Since his freshman year at Catholic Central, he has been a standout, putting him on the map since middle school. Though he currently has eleven offers, he values this particular one.
“It is amazing getting my first SEC offer as it is obviously one of the top conferences if not the top conference in college football,” he said. “It means a lot to see a big time program like Kentucky recognize my hard work and skills. I’ve been in contact with a lot of big schools but for one to finally offer is a surreal feeling and I’ll always remember Kentucky for being the first big time school to give me an opportunity to play at the highest level of college football.”
Next for Eziuka, he will camp at Cincinnati on the 10th, Tennessee
