Paul Finebaum Show guests don’t shy away from controversial opinions. One guest in particular had a wild claim.
Michael Bratton of “That SEC Podcast” shared his hot take with the college football show host. Bratton voiced that the Texas A&M Aggies would eclipse a 2023 College Football Playoff participant in the Texas Longhorns.
“I think Texas A&M finishes better than Texas this year in the SEC,” Bratton stated. Finebaum paused for a long time before responding to the take on the prediction.
When the pause was broken, Finebaum said, “I just have to hear that one more time.” After then, Bratton continued to discuss the forecast.
“Give me both (teams) around, probably, 9-3, 10-2 type, but I think it’s, the difference is going to be in College Station, late in the season, last game in the regular season.” According to Bratton, “I think Texas is severely overrated because of what they did in the Big 12 last year.”
Texas’ demolition of SEC title winner Alabama in Tuscaloosa is undeniable, but it appears Bratton subscribes to the theory that the Longhorns can’t stand up to an “SEC grind.” Time will tell whether or not that rings true.
Texas and Texas A&M will play over Thanksgiving weekend on Nov. 30 in College Station.

On The Joel Klatt Show, Klatt stated, “This Texas-Michigan game, for number one, it’s going to shape the season because we’re going to find out what Michigan is all about.””They’ve now controlled the Big Ten for three years. The national championship was just won by them. We’ll see if they can even compete with them at the pinnacle of college football. Right now, they are.
Joel Klatt dubbed Michigan a boa constrictor during the previous season. Fans of the Wolverines adore this moniker, which stuck. The 2024 college football season may be altered if the Michigan boa constrictor makes a comeback this season, according to Klatt on the program.
“What happens if the boa constrictor is still around?,” Klatt said. “And they still can run the football, and they still play great defense and they rush the quarterback? All of those things I think would be interesting, and that would reshape the college football year as we are thinking about it now.”
